Logos, label designs and other important visual information linked to a brand can be the key to harnessing a wide fan base and elevating a particular product to a well-known reputation. But this isn’t just a one-time concern. A company with many years under its belt can take an opportunity to reinvent itself with the help of new blood who can begin making labels that seem completely fresh, yet honest and tied to the original.
Beer, liquor, and wine labels, which can pack so much significance in such a small space, are a perfect medium for this. In addition to adding a collectible element that can appeal to fans, brewers can consider partnering with prominent artists to help raise consumer interest.
Take Beck’s Brewery, for instance. Since the late 1980’s, this company has chosen different artists every year as part of its Art Labels series, a time that has seen popular musicians like Yoko Ono and M.I.A. and artists like Jeff Koons and Damien Hirst contribute different designs. This year’s six selections have been announced, and include some well-known names such as fashion designer Marc Ecko and rapper Kid Cudi. In an official release, the company explained its choice of participants in the project as reflecting the “independent” image the brand wishes to make known.
No matter what kind of image is decided on for wine labels or who creates them, an on-the-bottle applicator can enhance the production process and make it easier for companies to communicate their message to the world.
