October is usually a good month for beer drinkers and brewers. While the annual Oktoberfest is in full swing in Germany, so are many competitions and festivals in the United States.
One such contest is the “Most-Loved Beer Label,” which is being held by CNBC’s Consumer Nation, consumers will vote on which beer label is the “most creative and interesting.” Brewers can submit pictures of their custom labels to the source beginning on October 19. Beers released between October 1, 2011 and October 31, 2012 will be considered for entry.
There’s also the Great American Beer Festival, which kicked off on October 11 and will run through October 13 in Denver, Colorado.
“In 1982, when the festival began, homebrewing was newly legalized by the Federal Government and there were 22 brewers, 40 beers and 800 attendees,” Julia Herz, craft beer program director at the Brewers Association, told the Huffington Post. “In 2012, GABF will have 578 breweries plus 2,700 festival beers and 49,000 attendees with 45 BA staffers and 2,800 volunteers to run it.”
With a plethora of breweries, beers and attendees, brewers will need to ensure that their product doesn’t get unnoticed in the fray. If they wish to stand out in the crowd, they may want to design custom labels for a specially brewed festival beer or reveal new logos for their regular stable of brews.
By investing in a Primera LX400 color label printer, brewmasters can ensure that they stand a fighting chance in not only winning the label contest, but also drawing in fans and new customers at events like the Great American Beer Festival.
