It seems that there’s almost no end to the different flavors and scents that products can be given with today’s technology. New candy labels and other kinds of products appear all the time, promising previously unthinkable combinations of tastes and sensations.
However, the line between two New England-centered brands, Ben and Jerry’s and Yankee Candle, will not be crossed, at least not according to one of the former company’s co-founders, Jerry Greenfield.
To be fair, that news comes in the context of a larger benefit for fans of this ice cream company: they are adding a location to the Yankee Candle Village in Deerfield, Massachusetts. Local news source The Recorder captured the event, which included remarks from Greenfield and the director of sales for Yankee Candle, Wade Bassett.
Though the announcement that these two would be neighbors seems to have been met with enthusiasm (as well as special ice cream cones available for just one dollar apiece), Greenfield did explain that it didn’t make sense for Yankee Candle to put some of his business’ famous ice cream flavors on their candle labels.
“One of the downsides of ice cream is that it doesn’t really have much of a smell,” he said. “That can be slightly overcome by baking waffle cones all day.”
Although he has a point, this doesn’t seem to have stopped Yankee Candle from producing scents like “Chocolate Layer Cake,” “Apple Cider,” and “Carmel Pecan Pie.”
Even if there are certain kinds of candle labels you will never have to make, you can still look for the printing equipment that can render labels in full color.
