Dean Foods has managed different labels for its more than 30 regional brands across the country. As of this month, the company will launch DairyPure, a catch-all milk brand that will still incorporate the milk from local dairies, even though the containers will feature one single brand name instead of all of the individual ones used previously.
According to a press release from Dean Foods, this new development will create “the national branded fresh white milk.” Some of the brands owned by the company include Land O’Lakes, Meadow Gold and Lehigh Valley. Though it manages the most milk brands in the southern United States, they extend to the Northeast, Midwest, West and Pacific regions as well.
Ralph Scozzafava, Dean Foods’ CCO, said in the statement that the new brand will meet five essential points for “purity.” These refer to freshness, a lack of artifical growth hormones in cows and quality testing, among other things. They are intended to establish the idea that the quality of the milk won’t change even if the name does.
“We’re passionate about the purity of our milk, which is why we ensure DairyPure milk meets our Five-Point Purity Promise,” he said. “With DairyPure, we will continue to deliver the fresh, high-quality milk our consumers have always enjoyed from their trusted, local dairies.”
Owning and using in-house color label printers gives the producer control over label quality and content, making it easier to make changes if necessary. For beverage containers specifically, the VIPColor VP485 Color Label Printer is a good choice, as it has the ink and label capabilities that enable it to handle large orders. When a major brand change takes place, creating new labels that are engaging and attractive can add to the initiative’s success.
