Manufacturers can make candy labels for a variety of packages, including plastic tubs, with a versatile printer, where the labels seamlessly fit the space. Packaging World recently looked at Saudi Arabian company Al Wefag, a candy company that uses this container style to promote its gummies. A picture included with the article shows the square containers, some of which feature a white background for the colorful labels to contrast with.
Businesses that might want to use a similar tactic for their own candy products can think of the following possible advantages for doing so.
- Balance interior and exterior: As with prepared foods in glass bottles, it can help to give the consumer a chance to glimpse the contents of the package by using only occasionally placed labels that don’t take up the entire surface area. This also allows businesses the chance to choose the color of the label to either match or contrast with the color of the candy itself.
- Easy access: According to an Essentra Packaging study cited in Confectionery News, difficult-to-open packages are a key concern for candy consumers. With a clearly identifiable and accessible lid, the tub can be a simple solution to this problem. There could also be less of a chance of buyers destroying the logo while opening it, as in candy wrappers.
- Security: While cardboard boxes can be squashed, durable plastic could be easier to transport. The Packaging World article defines the Al Wefag products as “tamper resistant.”
