Placing labels is tricky for odd container shapes

custom printed labels

Where should labels be placed on a product? It depends on a few key factors.

Once you’ve created your own custom printed labels, there’s an important decision to make: where to place it on the item. Some products come with obvious places for labels to be displayed, but this isn’t always the case, and sometimes special equipment is required to place the labels successfully. Optimedia Labs sells systems that make it easy to attach labels after they have been printed.

The labels you make with industrial labeling systems will already be suited for placement, with an adhesive coating that makes sure each one sets smoothly without wrinkles or bumps. Depending on the size and shape of the label, there might be obvious places to apply it.

With a jam jar that has defined sides, for example, the front parts of the jar make an easy home for rectangular labels with the name of the product, while the back could feature a similar space for nutrition information and other facts.

Other products may require custom-made solutions. For example, with a round container for French cheese, the proper label should be round as well, and fit onto the lid. Bottles, whether they are made of plastic or glass, also have to be decorated with labels that fit onto the specific product package. Wine bottles, which fit into the label applicator systems we sell, are another example of a container that needs to be labeled with care.

Printed on the right stock, some labels can be applied to multiple types of materials and ensure a strong sense of brand continuity. This could be useful if you intend to make many different sizes of the same item, or to market them to different demographics.

Labels should be colorful, well-made and appropriate for the product. Browse through our catalog until you find the choice that is best for your product line.
