Imitation makeup proves to be concern for U.S. authorities

Think that beauty labels are just a concern for makeup companies? Try Homeland Security. It's not just the Philippines that has to face the reality of counterfeit luxury products like this, including lipstick and blush.

In a piece on ABC Action News, reporters examined the sophistication that scam outfits have been pursuing, which make it difficult for the consumer to really know when a beauty item is to be trusted or not, especially when they are easily available through consumer sites.

The government knows this and has been attempting to stem the amount of dangerous beauty products that only claim to be under the umbrella of a famous brand name. It's a problem that can happen to the major industry players as well as the smaller companies who need the exposure and can't handle the disruption that might come out of a scandal like this.

This report noted that brands like MAC and Hello Kitty had been copied in an attempt to fool consumers. Although there are some areas where sharp-eyed shoppers might be able to tell the difference, the label should send a clear signal to anyone, or at least try to approach some sort of uniqueness that could work in its favor.

But without a color label printer in a company's arsenal, so to speak, there might be some concern that your business might not be able to create the custom labels it needs for security as well as brand stability. Don't be intimidated by reports of counterfeiters: your best answer to these problems might be solved sooner than later.
