Creator of the ‘Cronut’ chases it with ‘Milk and Cookie Shotglass’

Bakeries and specialty stores can pursue labels that identify their products just as clearly as those used by the big-name manufacturers. It can be even more necessary for smaller artisans to do this because of the variables consumers might not be aware of.

Dominique Ansel, the man who created the now-infamous “cronut” pastry has another concoction that might necessitate such consideration. As Grub Street reports, the latest hyped reinvention of a pastry mainstay is a re-envisioning of a classic American treat. Ansel’s version serves milk inside of a glass that is also a cookie.

If it sounds gloriously gluttonous to you, that’s likely the reaction that Ansel, who dispenses his unique creation through his self-named New York City bakery, wants. The combination of the two things seems to feed into the trend of “mashup’ snacks and novelty foods that still show no signs of decreasing in the current market.

Such new items, when packaged and eventually given special labels, will need particular attention from a color label printer in order to avoid confusing the populace. The audience that is interested in this item probably knows who it is, but people who are only hearing the name need the description that labeling can provide, perhaps along with an image that clarifies it.

The product comes after a little bit of a viral promotional appearance at the popular SXSW festival, as the New York Daily News reports. The promotion seems to be placing an emphasis on the youth market.

None of these factors that shouldn’t be ignored when considering such a unique new offering, and the labels your company uses should be able to appeal to all of these important purposes.
