Using seasonally-labeled products to help increase sales

Seasonal products that get offered for a limited time have always helped companies increase sales above average. This may be because the limited availability of items helps create an increased demand than what it would normally accrue should it be accessible year-round. It may also be because consumers tend to favor festive and celebratory products, especially ones that are marketed in accordance with current cultural trends and holidays.

Either way, using Halloween-themed labels for the next few days and in the future can help companies sell certain products and also increase sales for this portion of the year. But, with the widely-reported Hurricane Sandy finally making landfall in major metropolises on the East coast, many state officials are urging consumers to either celebrate the annual Day of the Dead earlier or later than usual. One example comes from the maritime town of Gloucester, Massachusetts.

“Every child in the city and their families want to enjoy a safe Halloween tradition without the concern, confusion or fear that a favorite holiday will be jeopardized by the storm,” said Mayor Carolyn Kirk in a statement. ” So we are urging neighbors to have children celebrate early in good weather, without concern for public safety issues that might arise as a result of the storm.”

While the worst of the storm may be ending on Monday night, companies can still benefit from using Halloween-themed custom labels on their private products. In addition, while Halloween may be nearly over or subdued due to inclement weather, companies can look forward to using a Thanksgiving theme for their wine or food labels.
