Using custom labels to enhance the customer experience

This blog has recently discussed how important it can be for companies to create a unique customer experience, one that gives consumers a reason to come back to the store besides providing a quality product. This can be done a number of ways from providing excellent customer service to creating a visual experience though custom labels and even merchandising.

In fact, according to Super Market News, a national grocery chain was able to use custom labels and large format printing to enhance its in-store experience.

Through a series of surveys, ShopRite found that its customers prefer to have farm fresh produce available in the stores. So, as a way to provide this incentive, the grocery chain created massive barn displays to house its fruit in, creating the effect of being at a farmer’s market and promoting the freshness of the product.

“The farmstand merchandising was new last year and so popular with customers that we brought it back again this year,” Santina Stankevich, spokeswoman for ShopRite, told the source. “It’s a great way to draw attention to and highlight local produce.”

For companies that want to offer a unique customer experience but may not have the resources to create large displays much like ShopRite’s, investing in a Primera LX900 color label printer can allow them to make custom labels for in-house products and other features.

By offering merchandise that isn’t available anywhere else – such as a private label product or by giving consumers the option of making their own labels – a business can stand out from its competitors. It’s creating these differentiating factors that often separate a good business from a great one, as consumers tend to search for the brands that provide more than just a good product.
