Sriracha beer brings familiar sauce into new territory

It’s an age-old problem facing industries of all kinds: How do you introduce new products but keep them linked to a familiar brand? Custom printed labels present a key, especially when the brand in question is a well-recognized label that has its own color and logo. When it comes to anything related to the popular spicy Sriracha sauce, much depends on getting the look exactly right.

This condiment is as well-known for its vibrant red-and-green look and rooster logo as it is for its taste. AdWeek recently reported on the beermaker Rogue, which is adapting the flavors of Sriracha into its Sriracha Hot Stout Beer.

Significantly, the bottle for this beverage, as displayed on Rogue’s official website, stays true to the design of the sauce, with a red boy and green cap. It also contains the rooster and the characters surrounding it, rendered in a similar white font. At the same time, the design also integrates Rogue’s logo, with a star in the center of the letter O.

Making labels for an industrial order of products in bottles means that all of them need to have the same labels displaying the same information smoothly and uniformly so customers know it’s still part of the established brand. Since this beer also has to represent Rogue, it shows a great example of the way different companies can be united under one smooth design.

Along with the printers necessary to make the labels you need, label applicators help to place the logos correctly so businesses maintain their identity simply. Doing this could be an easy way to convert customers who are already fans of the original product and ready to try the new offering.
